Finland took a clear 56 – 14 victory over Denmark in U-19 Nordic Championships opening match on thursday. The Finns scored 42 points in the first half and the team was able to maintain the lead to the end.

The Finnish liondefense also excelled  in Thursday evenings opening match. Denmark offensive line was stopped lots of times to the finnish meatwall, and the Finnish defense managed to create good fieldpositions to the Finns offensive.

Finns star runningback Karri Pajarinen was on fire and scored 4 touchdowns in the game. Finnish Headcoach Tero Virtanen had a good reason to be cheerful.

- If the score is 56 – 14 after the game, we know we did something right.

Team Denmark was quite armless against the Finns and the jutes did not get the fast offense to roll. Although the game ended with Danish defeat,  headcoach Carlsen sees positive things in the danish team.

-  I am satisfied with the players! We didn’t give up at any stage even if the score was ugly. I think it shows the team's great fighting spirit.
